Mineral treasures within fossil bones

This is a spectacular example of calcite crystals growing within the centrum of a theropod dinosaur vertebra. The fossil comes from Camino de la Algecira boneded (Teruel, Spain), which is a fossil site where some other striking diagenetic processes have already been described (Bauluz et al., 2014).
